After earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Religious Studies and running his own boat building business\, Gavin joined the family business as a maintenance mechanic. Over the years\, Gavin became head of engineering and V.P. of manufacturing and eventually board chair of the family business which grew to 350 employees and 100 million in sales. The family sold Watson Inc. in March of 2019.  During his time at Watson\, Gavin experimented with Lean\, Agile\, and the principles of Conscious Capitalism among other things. Since then\, Gavin has been enjoying the role of Chair of the Connecticut chapter of Conscious Capitalism\, a global movement working to establish a better business paradigm. He is a presenter and co-creator of the Conscious Leaders Network\, and as Gavin Watson & Associates\, consults with smaller manufacturers on how to engage the workforce.
